This was the second computer game I ever bought. I still had it on my computer 20 years later until my hard drive crashed. That reminds me I still need to replace it.

Wasteland is officially ooooooooold school nowadays. The internal speaker sound is an annoyance and the graphics are extremely dated, but the game is great. For one, it's huge for a game from the 80's. I found things I had missed two years after I had initially beaten the game. The character skill and level system is outstanding, there's plenty of equipment to choose from, and most importantly, the storyline is excellent. If you're a Fallout fan, you should play Wasteland to see where it all started. This is the place. You can find not-so-veiled Wasteland references in the Fallout series, but neither EA nor Interplay were able to make a true Wasteland sequel due to copyright disputes.

If you like old school roleplaying games, you're really selling yourself short if you don't give Wasteland a spin. This game is a piece of history. You find it regularly on all-time best lists for a reason.
